Chispa hasn't had much luck, but despite her congenital misalignment of her front legs, she has become an open-minded Podenca. She came to us in spring 2024 with 5 other Podencos from a hunter. While some were unfortunately already closer to death than life, she has to live with the consequences of a genetic defect, probably due to inbreeding. Even though she was very shy and anxious, we took her to an expert doctor with her stiff leg. Ultimately, we ruled out major surgery with extremely difficult aftercare because there was a 50:50 chance that the surgery would improve her quality of life and we were told that she was not in pain this way. The sweet Podenca with the fawn-colored eyes now comes closer often, is curious, and surrounds herself more with the other dogs.
